What are positive affirmations?

positive-affirmationPositive affirmations are a great self improvement resource that can help you dive into positive thinking, change your point of attraction, and release any resistance that may be hindering Law of Attraction manifestation.  However, there are a few pointers that you should consider in order to get the most benefit from affirmations.

Many people have been very disappointed with the results of affirmations, so it is important to realize that, as with anything, there is a way to just “do” it and a way to “do” it effectively. Let’s discuss the latter.

In order to know if you are effectively using positive affirmations, be aware of any shifts in your emotions.  Notice what (or how) you are feeling each time you write, speak, or think a positive affirmation.

If you’ve been sick for many years, you may not feel enthusiastic or encouragement when you say, “I am overjoyed with the excellent health of my body.”  In fact, you may just feel more frustrated by your current situation.

Being honest with yourself about what is going on inside of you will make the difference between making empty, hollow statements and actually benefiting from positive affirmations.

Affirmations are strong, powerful, positive statements, but they do not benefit you if they are too drastic a jump from your current state of mind.

If you find that a particular affirmation makes you feel worse because it is too far from what you really feel, try doing the Focus Wheel process.  This process, created by Abraham Hicks, is a way to guide you to thoughts of relief without jumping directly to a positive thought that you aren’t ready for.

After using the Focus Wheel process, you will feel relieved enough about the subject to move forward with the related affirmations. Note: A video explanation of this process is included at the end of this page.

Once you are emotionally ready for affirmations, you can experience life-changing results.  The more time you spend writing or speaking affirmations, the more you are thinking thoughts that align with your desires.

If you are thinking and affirming these positive thoughts often, they will become your dominant thoughts. Very quickly and easily, your dominant thoughts become your beliefs.  And Law of Attraction will always send circumstances (manifestations) to match your beliefs.  Click here for a list of affirmations that you can choose from: List of Positive Affirmations

Great affirmations. Hypnosis can make these affirmations even more powerful. (And they make great phrases to be included in hypnotic inductions!)
