Excuses, Excuses, Excuses: Do They Have Any Merit?

excusesAre there dreams that you have, which have yet to be accomplished? Are you convinced that success is unlikely for people like you?

If you’ve given up hope, it’s time to rethink that misguided decision.

The ONLY way to fail is to give up, so how do you rationalize your choice to abandon your dreams?  Do you know the real reasons… or are you full of excuses?

You have no money…EXCUSE

You have no time…EXCUSE

You don’t have a college degree…EXCUSE

You have a disability… EXCUSE

You lost your job… EXCUSE

You had a horrible childhood… EXCUSE

You’re not smart enough… EXCUSE

You’re too tired… EXCUSE

You’re discriminated against…EXCUSE

You don’t have a support system… EXCUSE

You have limiting thoughts and beliefs that disallow your ability to overcome adversity…THE ONLY REAL REASON

There is no shortage of examples around us of people who have overcome the excuses listed above.  Yes, those who beat the odds are in the minority.  But why is that the case?

What separates you from a deaf child who becomes a famous actress; a quadriplegic who walks again; an abused and impoverished child who grows up to become a rich & famous billionaire; a black child who becomes the president of one of the most historically racist countries in the world; a homeless father who becomes a multi-millionaire; a developmentally delayed child who becomes a famous Scientist and wins a Nobel Prize in Physics; a deaf and blind girl who becomes a famous author and lecturer; a woman who miraculously beats cancer without recommended medical treatments; a college drop-out and C student who redefines the way packages are shipped around the world?

People accomplish amazing, unbelievable feats every single day.  Are they all just strokes of luck?  I don’t think so.  The fact that most people see these occurrences as unbelievable or unlikely is the reason these things don’t happen in most people’s lives.

Whether you are religious, spiritual, both, or neither, you must have something that you believe in.  My belief is that we, as human beings, are unlimited.  However, we experience limitations that match the thoughts that we think.  I believe that most people seriously underestimate themselves.

If you’re noticing that there are several obstacles in your way, you’re probably right.  However, the obstacles are no match for your true power.  Don’t give your primary attention to the obstacles.  Zoom in on where you want to go rather than where you currently stand.  As you turn your focus towards your dreams and away from any lack that may exist, you will put yourself on the road to becoming your very own inspirational story.

Hi Nea,

I like this one, “a black child who becomes the president of one of the most historically racist countries in the world” :-)

actually, most successful people are from those who are taking action, and not looking for exuses.

Take as example Tonny robbin, he was in bad sitautions but now, you know the rest :)
