“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.” -H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Today’s Inspirational Words: Time to Follow Your Dreams
I don’t have time. These are the infamous words we use to procrastinate, to put ourselves in the victim role, to justify not following our dreams. It’s an excuse—and a very bad one if I may say so myself.
Think of any person—alive or dead—whose success you admire. Anyone at all. Do you have that person’s picture firmly planted in your mind’s eye right now? Good. [Keep Reading Inspirational Words]

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Friends, family, food, togetherness and (above all) gratitude. Thanksgiving day is a reminder to appreciate all that we have to be thankful for.
In the spirit of thankfulness, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite appreciation, thankfulness, and gratitude quotes.
“How wonderful it would be if we could help our children and grandchildren to learn thanksgiving at an early age. Thanksgiving opens the doors. It changes a child’s personality. A child is resentful, negative—or thankful. Thankful children want to give, they radiate happiness, they draw people.” ~Sir John Templeton
“God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say “thank you?” ~William A. Ward
“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, “thank you,” that would suffice.” ~Meister Eckhart
“If you haven’t all the things you want, be grateful for the things you don’t have that you wouldn’t want.” ~Unknown [Read More Gratitude Quotes]

I sat calmly, peacefully listening to the bitter voice of a colleague/friend. I’ll call him Charles to avoid any hard feelings. Charles is extremely smart—book smart that is—educated, skilled, and well-spoken; but he moved me in a way that neither of us were expecting.
He reminded me of historical atrocities and even informed me of horrors in the world that I knew nothing about. He knew his stuff—from ancient wars, evil dictators, privacy violations, and government corruption to the impending doom of 2012. He rehashed just about everything that ever has, or ever will be, wrong with the world.
What I realized as I listened to him is that the overwhelming majority of his ideas, his energy, his entire life is focused on what is wrong. What is wrong with the world, what is wrong with America, what is wrong with schools, what is wrong with human beings in general—the list goes on. My mind drifted to a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “People do not seem to realize that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.” [Read the full blog article →]

As a part of this week’s Monday morning inspirational words segment, I want to share with you a few lines from a country song that I love.
Life’s not the breath you take, the breathing in and out
That gets you through the day
Aint what it’s all about
You just might miss the point
Trying to win the race
Life’s not the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away
How often do you give thanks for the moments that take your breath away? Do you even pause long enough to fully experience such moments. [Read the full blog article →]

With millions of people suffering from anxiety disorders, the pharmaceutical industry is making mega bucks. Unfortunately, medicating this type of problem doesn’t actually heal it.
Xanax, Adavan, and other anti-anxiety drugs are addictive band-aids for a problem that deserves a real solution.
I suffered from an anxiety disorder called PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), so I understand how painful it can be to live with anxiety. I want you to know that there are wonderful natural remedies available to you, but your absolute best option is to educate yourself. I hope this article will serve as a part of your education on coping with and treating anxiety disorder.
Anxiety Symptoms—Is It Normal?
It is normal to feel anxious in some situations, but sufferers of anxiety disorders experience anxiety symptoms so regularly and with such intensity that it interferes with daily living. The symptoms of anxiety include the following: excessive worry, repeated negative thoughts, hypervigilence, sense of helplessness.
A person with anxiety disorder may be uneasy, apprehensive, tense, on-edge, and plagued by anxiety in situations where others relax or have fun. As if general anxiety symptoms are not bad enough, many people also suffer from panic attacks. A panic attack is a sudden onset of intense anxiety for no apparent reasons. It may include a smothering sensation, shortness of breath or choking, heart palpitations, trembling, hot flashes or chills, chest pain, fear of dying or going crazy, nausea, and sweating. Acceptance of one’s life has nothing to do with resignation; it does not mean running away from the struggle. On the contrary, it means accepting it as it comes, with all the handicaps of heredity, of suffering, of psychological complexes and injustices. ~Paul Tournier
As we journey toward self development, we focus a lot on change. Changing the way we speak, think, act, and even breathe. There are positive outcomes for these changes, but sometimes we forget about the step that comes before change. The most important step of all. It is acceptance.
Have you been sucked into the black hole of worldly expectations? Can you see past the pressure to perform better, look better, smell better, speak better, BE BETTER?
There is nothing wrong with striving to be your best self. But today’s inspirational words are about accepting who you are in the present moment. I hope I can inspire you towards self acceptance—life acceptance. [Read the full blog article →]

“If you’re going through hell, keep going.” –Winston Churchill
Do you ever feel like giving up? Giving up on your goals, your dreams, or even life itself? I think we have all felt that way at some point.
There are those times in life when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. These dark moments can seem so unbearable, so unbelievably hopeless, that you feel like giving up. I hope today’s inspirational words will help you to see that this is NOT the answer.
When faced with suffering that’s more than you can endure, do exactly what you think you cannot do. Instead of giving up, prove yourself wrong. [Read the full blog article →]
