take care of yourself

There are times when we focus so much on reaching out, helping and doing what’s best for others that we completely forget about the person who needs us most.

If you do nothing else today, remember to take extra special care of that person.

That person is you.

Love yourself from the deepest part of your being—completely, unconditionally, faithfully. Listen to your heart’s desires.  Relax your mind and body, allowing all the good of the Universe to flow effortlessly through you.

Express your creativity fearlessly with or without outside understanding.  Delight in your differences, your uniqueness—everything that makes you you.

Accept that you are special, one of a kind, and perfect as you are. Remember that you are good enough to believe in the best, experience the best, and live the best life possible.

Create your individual definition of success, one with goals and a pace all your own. Push yourself according to your aspirations, not the expectations others have for your life.

Acknowledge your strengths, assets and talents; allowing them to blossom unimpeded by self-doubt.  Forgive yourself all past mistakes and move forward without regrets.

Celebrate your achievements and believe in those yet to come.  Know that you aren’t done. You aren’t even close to done. Your life and your opportunities to expand, grow and evolve are eternal.

Be yourself. Love yourself. Take care of yourself. Follow the path that shines brightest, and never stop reaching for your hopes and dreams.

Amen!! I tend to get so involved with everyone’s issues that I forget about me. But now I’m realizing that if I don’t take time for me, I am of no use to anyone else.

I’m so glad to hear that you’re coming to that realization Michelle. I was in that same boat for years, but I got a chance to see the results. We have to remember the person in the mirror. That’s a lesson I’m glad I’ve learned and those who love me are pleased as well.

Nea, just the bit of morning inspiration I needed! Living a life that is authentically yours is so remarkably liberating, but at first when you stop mimicking societal context, it’s like “uh oh, this is kind of scary”

But this is such a powerful step. You are taking the metaphoric pen of life into your own hands and authoring your own life.

We must believe in this path and ourselves. I love the way Steve Jobs puts it, “You cannot connect the dots moving forward, you can only connect them looking back.”

Cheers!

Thanks so much, Chris. I love the comment you included from Steve Jobs too. Absolutely great!

Your words are such gift, Nea. I put others first before myself, as that was what my parents taught me growing up. But we really should not take ourselves for granted and instead reward our own needs with the joys of life. Thank you!

I appreciate your comment Jenna. Never forget to give yourself the loving care that you deserve. I hope to see you back here often.

This is exactly what I’m looking for. Pure inspiration. The words and phrases you have used are so calm that brought out the tranquility of my being, yet powerful enough to have moved me. We really need to give time for ourselves and we should satisfy our cravings for joy. May we nourish our hearts with laughter. Great job Nea! A million thanks for sharing.

I think most of the caregiver will resonates to this article, because they spend most of the time, effort, energy, money… just to help the others, but they neglected themselves. We gotta take care of ourselves first before being able to take care the others… Thanks Nea for the reminder…
